Do you have something to be excited about?

As highly sensitive people, it’s essential that we feel a sense of purpose. We may pontificate endlessly about what our mission in life is, but the best clue is to take a look at what excites you. Do you have something to be excited about?  I’d love to hear your answers.

As for me, I’m excited! I’m in good health and doing what I love to do! On Monday, I was happy to get a very good medical report. I’m feeling well enough to do more writing. I look forward to writing these blog posts and posting information to my social media. I also have three kindle books on Amazon, with other books that are on the way! And above all, I appreciate your support and all the interactions I have with people who follow my work.

Are You Getting The Most For Your Money?

As highly sensitive people, many of us dislike conflict, so we may avoid confronting service providers who don't do a good job. That doesn't seem fair to me, so I want to encourage you to be assertive when it comes to hiring people, even when it isn't easy. We deserve the best! We currently have an economy where manufacturing provides approximately 19% of all jobs, with service making up the other 81%. With such a service-intensive economy, I think a fair question to ask is... why is it so difficult to get what we pay for? The search for reliable service providers in every sector — including home, automotive, legal, financial, medical, computer, and retail — has become so frustrating that in many cases price isn’t…

The act of helping others can cultivate the best emotional satisfaction in your heart. Whatever form of help you extend, be it service or something of monetary value, you’ll undoubtedly receive something better in return.

What’s the matter with being different?

What’s the matter with being different? Why do people sometimes feel the need to be “normal” and fit in with society? I felt different when I was a child.  I was self-conscious about my appearance and didn’t feel like I fit in with others. Since I was tall for my age, children frequently teased me about my height. I felt awkward, wasn’t popular, and only had a few friends. (more…)
