#HighlySensitivePeople: How Much Activity Is Good For You?

How much activity is good for you? This question can be answered in many ways because we are all different. What kinds of activities take an emotional and physical toll on your mind and body? What types of activities uplift and energize you?

Being overwhelmed is a feeling that we all highly sensitive people experience. We feel more deeply than others. It’s important to know our activity tolerance. This can change from day-to-day. We don’t feel the same way each day and we need to make adjustments as needed.

Use your intuition and listen to what your mind and body are telling you. Your “HSP barometer” will tell you when to let up or push for more intellectual or physical pursuits. Too much or too little activity isn’t good for us. We need a balance of activities that will not overwhelm us, but will challenge our capabilities and interests.

Have you felt “guilted” into doing something that you dreaded? It’s important to remember that you don’t have to make excuses why you don’t want to do something. The “right” people for us will understand.

Something to think about… In order to have personal growth, you might need to go above your comfort zone. This is an individual choice. For example, you might have to attend a business conference that would better your career. Or you might want to have more friends or find that signicant other.
