Highly Sensitive People/Introverts: Do you seek happiness?

Are you looking for happiness and not finding it? It’s very possible that you are just looking in the wrong places. All you really have to do is listen to your heart in order to find happiness.

Every one of us has the ability to love and be happy. It just takes some people more work and a conscious effort to uncover what it is that makes them really happy.

In order to find your joy or happiness, you may need to turn off the outside world, a necessity for a highly sensitive person/introvert. Everyone leads such busy lives that they forget that true happiness even exists. To find those things that make you happy, look inside yourself and tap into them. Take a look at what your dreams and hopes center around. What things do you love and are passionate about?

Once you have uncovered these things, look for a way to incorporate them into your life. You want to try to see if you can connect the dots on all these things in some small way. This will lead you to a brighter picture and one that features you as being happy.

If you don’t feel happy currently, take a look at those around you. The chances are these people are unhappy too. Their unhappiness is spilling over to you. To change this, start looking to mingle with people who have a brighter outlook on life. Can you imagine the effect this will be on you? A positive one for sure.

It isn’t that hard to look for your inner happiness. What things make you light up? Is there a certain time of the day that motivates you to do more? What is the one thing you would do if time was of no consequence? Think back and remember what you loved to do as a child. Did you spend time drawing or were you happiest when out with animals, or working with other people?

Be honest with yourself and write out your answers. The things that you wrote down will be those items that you are passionate about.  Give yourself permission to spend 30 minutes each day following one of your passions. While this isn’t a huge amount of time, it will make a huge difference in your life. Allow yourself to do those things you love and your happiness will follow.
