Highly Sensitive People: Are You Or Have You Been Involved With “Takers”?

As a highly sensitive person, my honest intention is to help others when I can. I’ve been involved with many “takers” in my life.  Are you or have you been involved with “takers”?

I define “takers” as people who come to you for advice or a favor. You only hear from them when they  want or need something. These types of people can’t usually be relied upon for a favor or support.  They can come in the form of relatives, friends, acquantances, and business associates. Can you relate to this?

I’ve made the mistake of trying to help these types of people. It was a complete waste of my time and energy!  Here’s an example…Have you ever had someone come to you and ask your opinion about something and you give it? If they don’t agree with you, they try to talk you into their opinion? I can’t stand this!! If you go to this same person, they will not give you the time of day!

I’ve learned that I’ll help someone if they truly deserve it. I don’t have the time and energy to give help to the “wrong” types of people who are no good for me!

Can you relate to my experience? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.

Haha married to one for 20 years, and never touched another woman since 🙂 I think it’s in their nature to be takers lol
