#HighlySensitivePeople: Do You Have Trouble Staying Motivated?

Do you have trouble staying motivated? I do sometimes. Although this bothers me, I realize that it’s impossible to be “on” all the time. I start out energized and excited about a project, and soon after, I’m in the dumps having a pity party. Staying motivated isn’t easy! If it were, everybody would do it.

I bet you’ve had this experience too. It happens to us all. You may have felt good about a certain job or project when it began. You were filled with enthusiasm, but then you hit a few speed bumps, and your motivation waned. You may have fallen into self-doubt and decided to give up. #HighlySensitivePeople: When Did You Find Out That You Were A Highly Sensitive Person?

April 12th is a very significant date for me. April 12th was the birthday of my late father, Matthew. April 12th, 2005 was the date that I discovered I was a highly sensitive person.

There’s a lot of sadness for me on this day. It’s hard for me to believe that my father passed away over thirty years ago. He and I were so much alike in temperament and personality. In my case, it proves that high sensitivity is an inherited character trait. (more…)
