Highly Sensitive People: Why Can’t You Write?

Many highly sensitive people as well as others would like to write a book. Why can’t you write? You may have a multitude of reasons why you feel that you can’t. I would guess that most of those reason’s are self-imposed. Come on, let’s be honest…Isn’t this accurate?

You may think that you don’t have enough time, you’re emotionally or physically aren’t up to it,  you’re afraid of being judged, you feel that you don’t know how to write, my husband, wife, children, or pets, etc., won’t let me. Have I left anything out?

The shocking truth is that anyone can write if they truly want to. You don’t need an expensive computer to write. All you need is a pencil and paper and the desire to write a little bit each day. Can it be any easier than this? Please don’t tell me that you can’t spare five or ten minutes per day!

You’re not physically or emotionally up to writing? You can always find time to do something that you have a burning desire to do. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that this activity will make you feel better.

Are you afraid of being judged or criticized? You don’t have to show anybody. Start a diary of  your thoughts. It’s very soothing and you learn a great deal about yourself.

Do you feel that you’re not a good writer? The real secret of good writing is in the re-writing. You can always find someone to edit your work.

About your significant others, I’m sure that John, Jane, Billy, Susie, Fido, or Bootsie won’t mind if you put words to paper.

How about writing a book? If you’re passionate about helping others, the criticism will not bother you if you feel you’ve done the best that you can. Don’t try to be perfect! Nothing is perfect!

Have I given you enough reasons to start writing? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.
