Would you be willing to sacrifice for a happier job?

Would you be willing to sacrifice for a happier job? In other words, are you willing to take a pay cut for a job in which you’d be happier?

I understand that this is a difficult question. Especially in difficult economic times. In a recent Spherion survey of 882 employees, 64% said no and 36% said yes.

A positive work environment and a sense of purpose are especially crucial for a highly sensitive person. It’s important to think about the type of situation that you’d like most to be in. (more…)

Your Job Reduces Your Stress? Could this be true?

I recently read an article by Kathleen O’Brien that suggests that if you want to feel less stressed, you should spend more time at work.

At first thought, this seems to be a contradiction. Doesn’t working too much cause stress?

Penn State University researchers measured people’s levels of cortisol, a major indicator of stress, and found employees have significantly lower levels of stress at work than at home. (more…)

Do you hate selling?

Do you hate selling? At first thought…Who likes to be “sold to?” On further thought…We’re all selling something, aren’t we? Selling is a form of communication that highly sensitive people need to learn. We also need to listen to those who try to communicate their message to us. Why not learn from others who are good at selling?

There are many ways that selling affects our lives. Here are some examples:

  • Selling yourself to yourself. It’s important to sell yourself to yourself. In order to make the best impression to others, it’s necessary for you to feel good about yourself. The way you feel radiates outward, and you’ll attract things into your life that match the energy you put out. Building up one’s self-esteem is a lifetime pursuit.
