#HighlySenitivePeople: Do You Want To Make Fewer Mistakes?

Do you want to make fewer mistakes?  The simple answer is to not be afraid to make a mistake.

The more mistakes you make, the more you learn.
The more you learn, the more options you’ll have.
The more options you have, the better decisions you’ll make.
The better decisions you make, the more productive you’ll become.
The more productive you become, the more confident you’ll be.
The more confident you become, the less afraid you’ll be of making mistakes.

Isn’t it ironic that the thing you avoid will help you the most? I’m interested in any thoughts or comments that you have.

Well, for myself, as an HSP, I really really do not like confrontation. So if I make a mistake, either someone is going to confront me about it, or I will confront myself. Likewise, the indepth processing that is natural to HSPs makes us want to prepare as much as we can in advance of a situation…so I think this naturally leads to making less mistakes because we have thought through the situation in depth. So in making less mistakes in general, it can be overwhelming to actually make a mistake and have to admit it and correct it. And therefore we want to avoid making mistakes because it is so overwhelming and this taxes our nervous system. Make any sense? Likewise, it depends on the context of the mistake. If it is with people, then to place the ‘mistake’ on ourselves isn’t necessarily healthy or appropriate. Not being a people person, I daily ‘think’ I am making social interaction mistakes…and yet the other person may very well be the one who is distorted in their thinking and expressing this so that I feel like I am the one making the mistake in the social interaction. Complicated stuff, but worth sorting out so that as an HSP or Introvert or Empath I don’t take on or absorb what isn’t mine. Makes me healthier.
