Do you think about what will make you happy? Perhaps it is having enough money to do what you want. If you had enough money, what would you do? How can you make enough money to do this? Maybe you’d like to have a loving relationship. If so, what are the qualities that you’d like in this person? How would you find this person?
Are material possessions at the top of your list? It’s great to have and want nice things, but are you short-changing yourself out of having a more balanced and fulfilling life?
How about feeling like you have more control of your life? What specifically do you need to do to have more control? This is a big one for me. I knew at a young age that I needed to be self-employed. I never liked anyone telling me what to do, including my parents and teachers.
Is anger and stress getting in the way of your happiness? It’s impossible to have a stress-free life, but having the proper perspective in dealing with these events is doable. If you are stressed most of the time, you won’t be able to enjoy the good times. Chronic anger means high level of stress that leads to poor physical health and possibly an early death.
If you’re plagued by stress or depression, you may want to consider getting professional help or reaching out to family and friends. It’s very important to manage negative feelings and ask for help when you need it, even though this can be especially hard for highly sensitive people.
Do you forgive and forget? It’s important to remember that doing this is better for your psychological well-being. Who or what do you need to forgive and forget?
Would you be happier if you felt more attractive? There’s little question that it helps to be attractive, and appearance does matter, though not all of us are beauty queens (myself included…LOL!). But what can you do to make the most of what you have?
