As highly sensitive people, most of us have a natural curiosity about the world and have a passion for learning. Sometimes we may want to explore something, but have no idea where to start. The good news is that there are “teachers” all around us.

They come disguised as people from all walks of life. Life lessons may arise from everyday situations that happen to us, both good and bad. How important is learning during adolescence?

Using your brain, particularly during adolescence, may help brain cells survive and could impact how the brain functions in adulthood. According to a published study in Frontiers in Neuroscience, Rutgers behavioral and systems neuroscientist, Tracey Shors, found that the brain cells in young rats that were successful at learning survived, while those that weren’t able to master tasks died quickly.
