Highly Sensitive People/Introverts: Do You Forgive Yourself For Your Mistakes?

This is a big issue for me! As a perfectionist, it’s hard for me not to beat myself up over a every mistake! Can any of you relate to this?

Everyone has things in their past that they’re not proud of, but sometimes it’s difficult to forgive yourself. Maybe you did something terrible to a friend or family member. Maybe you feel guilty about committing a crime. Maybe you made a bad decision, and someone got hurt because of it.

No matter what you did, or what you’re holding onto, it’s important to forgive yourself, so that you can move on with your life. If, on the other hand, you let guilt linger without ever addressing the underlying issue, it will sap your joy and wreak havoc in your life for years, or maybe even decades, to come.

It’s understandable to want to stay inside your comfort zones. After all, it’s the easiest thing to do! It’s where we feel safe, where we don’t have to open ourselves up to criticism and hurt, and where we can avoid making tough decisions.

Highly Sensitive People/Introverts: Do You Have Negative Thoughts?

I do! I try to minimize them as much as I can.  It’s human nature to have more negative thoughts than positive ones. Negative thoughts are things that none of us really want to have, but we all seem to get at some point. Whether it’s about ourselves, the things we’re doing, our jobs or other people, it’s difficult to get rid of negative thoughts once they enter our minds. Do You Get Upset Over Other People’s Insensitivity?

As as highly sensitive person, I sometimes wonder if I get overly upset over the insensitivity of other people. Or perhaps I’m being perfectly reasonable. It’s hard to say!
