I Hate Criticism!

Who likes to be criticized? Being the highly sensitive person that I am, the scary feeling of being judged is intensified. The pain of  being humiliated come to mind.

I had a grammar school teacher criticize me in front of the class. It had a long lasting affect about the way I felt about school. I was afraid to go to class and was never a good student. I wrote about this experience in my book, Making Sense of Your High Sensitivity. (more…)

Keep Your Distance From Negative People!

Pessimistic people have a negative attitude and sour outlook on life. They can bring you down.  More often than not, the clues are so subtle that you might miss them at first.

Think about the people in your life. Now think about the ones that often belittle others – make cutting remarks – (even to you) and pass it off as ‘just joking.’ They’re judgmental and are constantly pointing out the negative in you as well as in life in general. (more…)

Are You Tired?

What is the difference between feeling tired and experiencing symptoms of fatigue? That’s a very good question and it’s important to understand the difference. If you’re just a little tired, you can recover quickly, but long bouts with fatigue could signal a problem.

Everyone gets fatigue from time to time. In and of itself, fatigue isn’t a bad thing. It’s the body’s natural way of slowing you down so you can get some rest and feel restored. Everyone experiences this and it can be very healthy. (more…)
